Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or loose paint. Use a damp cloth to wipe the wall and let it dry completely.
Use a filler for any large cracks or holes and let it dry. Once dry, sand it smooth.
Use a putty knife or trowel to apply a thin layer of putty onto the wall. Start at the top and work your way down in smooth, even strokes.
Apply the Aarton wall plaster interior putty in a thin layer, as thick layers can crack as they dry. For best results, apply several thin layers rather than one thick one.
After applying each layer, use the putty knife to smooth out the surface and remove any excess putty. You can also use a sanding block or sponge to smooth it out further once it’s dry.
Allow each layer of putty to dry completely before applying the next layer or sanding.
Once the putty is completely dry, sand the surface using medium-grit sandpaper to remove any unevenness.
Follow up with fine-grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth finish. Be sure to sand lightly to avoid damaging the putty.
Wipe down the wall with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust from sanding.
Apply Aarton cement primer to the wall before painting. This helps to seal the putty and provides a better surface for paint to adhere to.
Once the primer is dry, you can proceed with painting the wall as desired.
